Congrats!

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide for winning their 15th NCAA Football National Championships. The Tide beat the Clemson University Tigers 45-40 in an exciting championship game.  Alabama Head Coach Nick Sabin is a true football genius and has the Crimson Tide in the “Dynasty” conversation again.

Also congratulations to the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend winners. The Steelers and Seahawks won close games, and the Chiefs and Packers won easily. Now onto the Divisional Round!

Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals                                                                             I think this game will be very close. The Packers finally had a good game last week, but the Cardinals have been strong all season. I have to go with Arizona at home for the win.

Carolina Panthers vs. Seattle Seahawks                                                                       The Panthers have been unstoppable all season (except for the hiccup against the Atlanta Falcons). Although, without a doubt a top team in the NFL, the Seahawks have been hot and cold, and maybe now starting to get hot again. I believe the Panthers will be too strong at home and will defeat the Seahawks.

New England Patriots vs. Kansas City Chiefs                                                                The Chiefs are the team that no one wants to play against in the playoffs. They are enjoying an 11 game winning streak and just shutout Houston in the Wild Card round. New England is a little banged up right now, but more importantly, they do not have the swagger of invincibility that they normally have in the playoffs (especially since they lost 4 of their last 6 games of the season). I’m going to pick the Chiefs on the road for the upset.

Denver Broncos vs. Pittsburgh Steelers                                                                         This is the match up the Broncos have been waiting for – REVENGE GAME! Although Peyton Manning is going to be the starter for the Broncos, he still hasn’t proven that he is back to his normal self since his foot injury. But the Denver defense is what is going to lock down the game – especially since Ben Roethlisberger has a sprained shoulder and probably not start (and if he plays he probably won’t be very effective). I’m feeling good about the Broncos winning at home for this one.

Those are my picks and I’ll put my money where my mouth is.  Enjoy the games!
